Sharing: the importance of Medical Card

Medical Card is card which allowed you to get the best medical treatment in any private hospitals. You may save your own money for your medical treatment and why need medical card right?
If you save RM200 per month.  When you think it is gonna be RM500,000?  You need 208 years to achieve that.
With medical card, you save RM200 per month.  Plus we pay all your medical bills.  You can waive all medical expenses and worry free about the bills.
As you save RM200 per month with Great Eastern, you will have around RM150K at retirement later. Your money invested with Great Eastern with average 9% annual return rate.
Will my money reduce or gone if you I do claim? The answer is NO. Doesn’t matter how much do you claim, RM1k, RM50K, Rm500K. Your savings still secured and will be there.
If you do your own savings, this will be not happen. Example you already have RM30K in bank. Medical cost is RM50K. You have to withdraw your RM30K and still need to pay the balance of RM20K from your own pocket money.
What you can do is borrow money or withdraw your money from EPF if you are eligible.
This is a big concern.
You have 3 options to pay the balance
  • Borrow
Family and friends will try their best to help you. But to borrow RM20,000 is near impossible unless your have a very rich relative.
  • Sell your assets
Your maybe have one or two assets which can be sold. But it takes at least 6 months to sell a house for example. If your assets still under bank’s loan, yet you cant sell it off.
  • Seek for Donation
Your saw on television, people seek  donation for themselves or their kids. Need money for surgery or treatment. If you are disable or really poor , you are qualified to seek donation under the television programme. But, you are income earner like executive in one big company, you will not getting any help by the donation programme because there are more needy people out there.
Why it is too late upon retirement?
Premiums at older age is expensive at least RM500 above per month.
Your request for an insurance will be rejected if you are already diagnosed various disease. Maybe you have millions ringgit upon retirement but if insurance cover your medical expenses, you can save your own money and use it wisely during retirement for other purposes. * I have met many Malaysians at age 55 request to get an medical card and life insurance from me. If they are healthy, there will be no problem. But if they not, like diabetes, their request will be rejected. Medical expenses cost them around 30K per year.
I asked them, why you don’t have any medical coverage before? They answered me, “I have company unlimited medical coverage, any surgery and clinical is covered by company. All my diabetic treatment cost total RM70K is paid by my company” . As they retired, no more coverage but diabetic treatment still continue. Now they having the biggest problem of their life.
And some of them even said, “Why do i need insurance and medical policy while i’m healthy and everything is fine right now? I rather use the money to spend for entertainment and fun rather than paying premiums for insurance!”
Well, “Not everyday is a sunny day, better get yourself prepared for rainy day!”
Do you know medical cost in private hospitals nowdays?
1. H1N1 – 3 days admitted – RM3400
2. Kidney dialysis – RM130 per session (13 times per month)
3. Artery bypass – RM90K
4. Dengue – 7 days admitted – RM4100
*Note that medical cost will increase approximately at least 15% per year.
If you have medical card from Great Eastern, all the medical expenses above will be covered with limit RM1,500,000 lifetime.
Why Great Eastern?
Great Eastern is No. 1 in Malaysia which already established for more than 100 years since 1908!
Why Great Eastern medical card?
Great Eastern medical card provides coverage up to 1.6 million. In addition, you will get extra RM250 per day if you admitted in hospital and Great Eastern will pay for all your medical expenses.
Just imagine, if your daily salary is RM200 and you are admitted in hospital.  All your daily expenses like car and house installments, family expenses and etc will not be your burden. If you admitted for 10 days, so the total pocket money you will get from Great Eastern is RM2,500. This will help ease your burden.

Dear readers,

First and foremost, thank you for visiting my blog I hope I'm not being too boring :)
My name is Kim Lee and I'm 19. I've always have a passion in writing because I think I can express myself better by writing compare to talking.
Yes well people who knows me in real life please don't start rolling your eyes yet, yes I do talk a lot normally, but rarely about my feelings and thoughts. Hee~

This blog serves as the purpose of a journal I keep, as an Great Eastern insurance agent. I've been doing a lot of different thing and growing everyday since I passed my exam in the end of April 2011. I am exposed to a new kind of environment and to be honest, it was hard to adapt at first. This is definitely not an easy path but I'm glad I have a lot of amazing people who help me along the way, who listens when I told them my concern, who answer me all my only-you-can-think-of questions.
I kept a hand-written diary journal before this. But since last month I've got internet access so therefore I've decided to make good use of what I'm blessed with. The first reason I start this blog is obviously because I love writing. The second reason is because I'd like to keep a journal of my daily encounters with prospects, clients, and all my seniors. I think I'll definitely learn  something from this as writing makes me think, thinking makes me discover new things and refreshes what I learn. :)

And whenever I'm down, I have a place to express as writing makes me happyy. Cheers~  I believe everyone has their way to get over something sad, to refresh what they've learn, to express their thoughts, and writing is mine :)
This will also be the place I share my goal, my dreams and my achievements.
And that's the end of my first post, I'll be back soon.

lots of love.
